BEEF

As expected, we were unable to sail at 6am this morning. They set the time for sailing at 6.30pm tonight. At 6 o’clock we managed to get a new galley boy after one had run away. Then the mate discovered that ‘Chippy’; an A.B. and two new sailors had disappeared. The old man was nearly frantic. However, we got them back in time for sailing, and eventually we got away. Just as we reached the lock gates, the warning went so we are still here!
