22nd May 1943
Yesterday, the Chief Officer had a row with the Old Man as to the condition of the ship. He threatened to go to the Company & refuse to sail with him.
The weather has been a little calmer & we have made good speed.
A cyclone was reported in this area, & Madras was closed from 16-22nd. Several people aboard imagine that the weather we had from Tuticorin to Colombo was the tail end of a cyclone!
