24 April 1940
After being at anchor until early this morning, we we’d anchor once more, and set a course for New Zealand about 16 days from here. The day is calm, warm and pleasant. And I am lazy tired after being up most of last night watching the canal, and going on watch.
And so this day has passed; very quickly, it seems, because I have been sleeping most the time. 15 more days like this and we shall be there.
