24th September 1940
I spent the time today in writing letters and posting them. A big L.M.S. goods station has been completely burned out, and several other warehouses badly damaged. Chaps on board say it was very bad on Saturday night, when it happened.
I am still unable to get through on the phone. 3 warnings have gone today. One German plane sailed right over the docks, but nobody touched him.
