25th June 1942

After spending last night in coming alongside, we have finally been able to tie up. We are tied next to a sister ship of this one who has 167 passengers aboard.  We went over her this evening to have a look round. There were quite a number of women, young children, R.A.F personnel, naval ratings and army personnel. The accommodation is much more plentiful than ours, but the ships are just about the same length. It was quite a change to hear a woman’s voice. The weather has been perfect all day.
