27th February 1945

I stayed in Crosby all day. Had a lovely walk. Didn’t get up until 1145! I phoned the ship this evening and found that we would be going at 9am tomorrow. Joan and I played records and talked. I missed the last train from Woodside to Ellesmere Port so caught the 2310 Chester train and walked from Healton. It took me 1 ½ hours from the station to the ship. I was on board by 0715!!
