28th December 1940

We docked at West Float at about 1.30pm. On the quayside are numerous Chevrolet lorries, similar to those that we have brought over. Beside these are sections of army huts piled up in separate heaps, ready to be taken away.

My mate and I had to do the giving out of the money.

This evening Jock and I have been ashore to Woodside station. We went to the pictures for about 2 hours.

The customs people came aboard and every thing is now in order. 10lbs of sugar duty = 1/6.
