And so Thursday comes, making one more day in the life at sea! The weather has been pretty good and a nice fresh breeze made walking on deck very pleasant. We are going almost due N.E, so the nights and early mornings are getting pretty chilly. I can see I shall need plenty of woollen goods next trip, for I have no ‘bogey’ in my cabin; neither is there one in the wireless cabin. Some of you women folk will have to get busy with the needles I can see!

The dinner today was rather a poor effort I’m afraid – as a matter of fact I was the only one who ate it. The others just gave it one look and said “Take it away”. But that is not an uncommon thing nowadays. The tea, too, consisted of a spoonful of cold mashed potatoes and two Yorkshire fritters (cold by that time), which were as tough and doughy as I should think it was possible to make them. Bread, butter and jam had to fill in the empty spaces.
