29th June 1942
I went ashore again today but not until the afternoon as we thought we might sail.
We have now shifted from the bunker wharf and are now lying at no.2 buoy. The weather continues to be glorious. Tom claimed to have been attacked by a couple of niggers with knives while he was with his girl. He said he socked one and then ran. He had a nasty gash on his chin. There has been a murder here every night since the black out started. They expect Marshall law. The Dutch element are thought to be responsible.
