At Sea - Halifax to Liverpool
Age

30th July 1941

Fog did come down last night – as was expected and once more the mournful note – or rather the rasping note in our case – of the fog whistle shattered the stillness of the night with it’s every reiterating 111 (our convoy no.).

The fog has persisted on and off, all day, and the swell has remained quite heavy. At day break, we were way in the stern of the convoy, and the Commodore was on our starboard instead of about 3/4s of a mile on our portside! No one was in their correct posn. – except us of course!

We are nearly completely grey now.
