3rd May 1943
We are supposed to sail at 7am for Colombo. Frank didn’t turn up to meet us, so we had to make our way on our own.
I went aboard his ship, the Shirala, but he had been transferred to the Strathmore to go home with Harvey. He was at No. 8, Earl’s Court, Marine Drive. I took a taxi there, but the driver misunderstood & I finished up about 10 miles outside. It cost me 15/0 all told, & he was out when I finally got there, having gone to the pictures!
