3rd November 1943
When we brought our torpedo nets in last night we found we had caught a huge turtle on the starboard side, & a torn turtle & American life belt on the port side! The cook cut the turtle up just to see what it looked like!
The Commodore & his staff have left us and are now aboard the “Manchester Progress.”
The convoy sailed at 1600 hrs today, but the Old Man was completely drunk & we nearly went ashore!
The convoy speed is 7 1/2 knots & we are bound for Loch Ewe which probably means another convoy from there to London.
