4th November 1944

Iris and Dad spent the morning searching for Shirley’s present. I had a lazy time staying with “Bamby” our new kitten.

This afternoon Iris and I rested and at 1730 made our way to Shirley’s. The spread was terrific for wartime, as was the cake.

Unfortunately, not many men were present. In fact, Eric and I were the only eligible males. He managed to twin up, despite his bad knee.
