5th June 1941

After a certain amount of rushing about, I managed to get to Lime Street Station at about 11.30, where I met Mum and Dad (looking rather worried) sitting on the seat beneath the clock. They had been there since 6.30am!

After the usual prelims, we cleared off to Southport where we went to the pictures and put up for the night.

The weather was neither good nor bad – just indifferent. It was good to see them again.
