7th April 1943

The 8th army resumed its offensive against the axis in the Gabes area at oh 420 yesterday everything is going according to plan.

We tied up alongside the main Wharf at 6:30 PM after anchoring in the stream for a short time.

John and I went to the picture house but got caught in a terrific thunderstorm. We were pretty wet when we arrived and instead of there being a picture on, there was another ENSA show!! It wasn’t so good as previous efforts.
