Location
At Sea - St. Helen’s Roads – Cherbourg
Age
21 Years

7th January 1945

We sailed at 1000 hrs., according to schedule and the 3rd mate only just caught the ship before she pulled off. We are St. Helen’s Roads – Cherbourg bound and are Commodore. The Comm. Is quite a nice sort of fellow; jolly and friendly, and holds the rank of Captain. The wind is rising again, so we expect to get a blow as we round Lands’ End.
