8th March 1942
For the first time in several months now, I saw the sun all day and must admit that it was an invigorating change. There was a glorious dawn breaking when I went out on deck, prior to breakfast. The sky was blue, the air clear and sharp and the sea had that wonderful “early morning blue tint” about it which I have seen so many times in the past, but which now comes back as a refreshing change.
There is thought to be a sub in the vicinity of the convoy.
The weather is not quite so calm now as it was. In fact it is becoming definitely squally.
