16th June 1944
I reported back to L’pool at 0900. The train arrived at 0430 so I passed the time in the Officers’ Club with Mr White, the Chief Electrician of the “Waiwera” & “Esperance Bay.” To my surprise I was told to sign back on the “Esperance Bay” for 18 mths — 2 years as No. 3. Her food wasn’t on board, so I went back home, because the articles don’t start till Monday.
