9th March 1942

Though the weather hasn’t been nearly so nice today as it was yesterday, it has, nevertheless, been very good considering the time of year, and our posn.

A good average speed has been maintained so far, and we expect to arrive in Philadelphia on Friday March 20th.

As we are running for “Allied Shipping” now, and not Manchester Liners, we are liable to be sent anywhere from Phil.

This ship is definitely the steadiest that I’ve been on yet; in fact, she’s amazing! Sometimes I forget that we’re on anything movable though, and nearly finish up on my back when discarding my trousers!
